Malawi tank

Postby dez_newman » Tue Feb 02, 2016 2:33 pm

It's been 10 days since I emptied the salt water out and refilled with normal water to return to Malawi's. I changed the water today and I have a steady ph of 7.8. Ammonia was at 2.0 now at 0.5. Nitrite was at 1.0 now at .25 and Nitrate down to 0.5. All reading's were high due to die off of all the live rock and other marine critters. I will wait for another week and see what the parameters are and then add some bristle nose pleas. Here is a picture of it so far.

I have used fluval cycle as I am getting 250ml of fluval tap safe and cycle for 8 pounds. I have done one water change after 5 days added more cycle for 3 days and will leave for another week and see what is happening.
Not sure on the fish in my Jewel 240 but would like some red blue and yellow colours. I do like peacocks, but need some that are not going to be bullied by other fish. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
