Water Droplets

Postby Ben M » Wed Jul 06, 2011 9:56 pm

Hi guys, I have been looking on a photography forum about how to take pics of water droplets. I have given it a go, and here are my results:

I am quite pleased with them, and I am going to start experimenting with different colours etc. to see what I can achieve. Obviously these aren't brilliant, as they are my first attempt, but what do you think?

They were taken with my canon EOS 1000D with a tamron 90mm 1:1 macro lens.

cheers :handgestures-thumbup:

Cheers for the replies guys. I don't know how I forgot about this thread lol. I haven't done any more, as I've been busy with school work, but looking back at this thread has got me interested in having another go. The only problem is that the lighting is awful near all of the taps near my house (don't know why lol) so It's hard to get decent shots.

Mr Cobue, your shots are great! What kit were you using to get the splashes?

The ones in the link???

No they're not mine. They're amazing. Still a loooooong way away from producing shots like that. Most likely they were done with professional equipment, e.g solenoid valves etc

Funnily enough I did have another go last week using my studio lighting but was a little unsuccesful to say the least. Problem was it wasn't very well set up, sync speed is max 250th of a second (would have preferred more) and the shallow baking tray I used had all speckled patterns
