Some advice please on cross breeding

Postby karl2005united » Sat Dec 05, 2015 6:32 pm

Hi everyone I'm just stocking my 600 litre ank primarily with peacocks and haps. I have just purchased a male and female Copadichromis Red Fin Borleyi and male and female Protomelas spilonotus Tanzania they have gone into my tank with male only varieties of Aulonocara. They are both breeding pairs. Am I in any danger of these fish cross breeding? If so is it a sure fire thing they will or an outside chance? Many thanks for your knowledge regards karl

Yes having that mix will result in cross breeding. Unless you witness all of a spawning with 2 from a species then you can't guarantee pure fry.
