I have zero out of the tap, have a Rio 400 and when I am on the ball I change 80% a week and I dont overfeed and my nitrates are 25 max at the end of the week. I also have a average stocked tank wanting to move to a nice heavy stocked tank so i would assume I would if I am on the ball with filter cleaning and water changes have 30 by the end of the week.

What filters do you run?

I'm looking to get my water parameters correct. I have practically 0 ammonia and 0nitrites , my nitrates are 40 ish ppm and my KH level is 17, however my ph is still low at approx 7.8.

I have used a powder called bio alk, recommended by my LFS, tips and advice would be much appreciated.

I'm running an FX6 and Aqua one 1250 Clare , 400l tank. And I think approx 50 fish ranging from 5 inch to 1 inch .

Wet is the best kind   , but if you mean pH then from 7 -8 pH they will breed :tu:

Have a look and research what the largest % of Lake Malawi's pH is , you may get a surprise
