as luck would have it i have two back up males and have now intruduced the to the tank and strait away they have started showing of to the females so fingers crossed.

I would guess the smaller fish going nuts may in fact be a Makobe

I do not think you have Ruti Island but i would not mix the two either, instead go for mixing different broods of fry from different parents if you have multiple males/females then select the best males from one brood to breed with females from another. Do this every time you want to create future breeders and you will stem the problems associated with inbreeding.

Here is a definite ruti island

But looking again it could be, you need to find as much information as to where they came from as possible if you want to keep these pure. You will always have trouble with the Nyererei.
What have the Yanks said ?

here are my old Nyererei Makobe as juveniles and were questionable.

toni isnt that the one you got from me pal that i reared and brought down to you a few months ago??? we confirmed this the other day as you have two videos of 'makobes' on utube the one you got from hull is titled on utube as 'S8300842.AVI' heres the link to it on one of your videoshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIcY5WXJQuU&feature=related

ps remember the two deep black lines across the forehead we discussed pal?? the one you got from me doesnt have it, like its decending father in my avatar, the blue isnt apparent either,

hope this helps further the confusion :text-lol:
