This is how it translates on babelfish

Preface Loves members, one of the important goals of the German Cichliden society, which are called in article 2,1 of their statute, consists of completing and spreading the aquaristischen and scientific knowledge over the fish family of the Cichliden. In order to pursue this statutory purpose more effectively and more purposefully, became on the meeting of the members of the DCG in December 1998 up Recommendation of its executive committee the resolution calm to assign in the future in each year a Cichliden Förderpreis. By this price the DCG wants to support not only laboratory and farm works financially, which increase the knowledge over Buntbar in nature and in human care, but also projects to promote, which are helpful to the Cichliden in the sense of nature and protection of species. In February 1999 the Cichliden Förderpreis was then written out for the first time. Since then over five years passed, so that sufficient experiences for a trial balance are present, which without reservation positively fails. All applications, the data over the goals of the planned project, which contain intended methods and its prospective financing must, to two consultants are submitted, who are familiar due to their activity at universities with such tasks and deliver over it a judgement, in which measures the project concerned is eligible for promotion. With the acceptance of the price the applicants commit themselves to publish results of their investigations promoted by the DCG later in the DCG information. So far the work in the Buntbarschlabor of the University of pouring as well as two field investigations were supported in Africa and one in South America. In the meantime it turned out that the Cichliden promotion price has also outward and in the public for the DCG a lasting and very favourable effect. In the third special edition of the DCG information now the results become of investigations represented, which by the Cichliden Förderpreis 1999 financially support became. Those possibly at first sight amazingly long time interval between the assignment of the price and the publication of the test results explains itself by the fact that itself the projects at the time the application generally still in planning it finds that the evaluation of the collected Data and the representation of the results are quite time-consuming and that before their publication - as in the available case - of the editorship often still external consultants consulted become. Much fun with a suggesting and interesting reading, which must include not necessarily also all tables and ichthyologischen descriptions, since these address themselves rather to the specialists, wishes you also this time in the name of the presidency of the DCG Wolfgang Staeck

There is a wealth of information out there if only i could read it.

This particular article covers the many Ugandan lakes that have been surveyed over the last few years - pages 24+. Some of its fish are filtering through to the more hard core vic enthusiasts.
