A friend came over today with his camera and wanded to know if his lense and flash was good enough to shot malawi cichlids. A standard Canon EF-S 18-55/3,5-5,6 III lense and a very cheap chinese flash (YONGNUO YN460 Speedlite) that costs around 45USD. After a few miner adjustments on the settings i took a couple of shots and to my surprice they came out pretty good.

Hoe far are you setting the aperture down? = all the way doen to f22?

ISO 100? 200?

shutter speed?

I guess f16, iso200, 1/200 sec

and the flash - how do you get the effects?
