Fluval Roma 200 lighting upgrade

Postby miabs » Sun Oct 13, 2013 8:44 am

Hi,

I have the original t8 tubes in my 3 year old Roma 200 tank. I am changing them for some Arcadia tubes and metal reflectors.

My question is : do I buy the same length reflectors as the tubes (36" for the Roma 200) ??
I ask this as I wonder if the reflector will be affected by the tube seals at each end, should I buy 30" reflectors with 36" tubes ?

Thanks.
Mark.

30" should do. I love reflectors as they really do make a difference and the ways in which it affects the lighting with the angle you have them reflecting is awesome. :tu:

I have 2x T8 tubes on my fluval Roma 200.

The front is an arcadia original tropical T8 (pink) and a freshwater T8 (white) at the rear.
.I have some jacobfreigi's which arent showing their red but more of an orange .

Can anyone advise on the best T8 for a Malawi set up ?

Can I convert to t5 or should I place an led under the lighting unit and run with two t8 tubes ??

Arcadia marine white or reefsun 50/50 I recommend. You can move to led though if you want.
